THETEAM

Owner & Teacher
Matt DiFeo
Matt’s musical journey started when he was 10 years old. He studied rock and classical guitar at Zumix, and learned jazz, funk, and latin music at Boston Arts Academy. While partaking in the Berklee College of Music’s System 5 program, he realized he wanted to be a music instructor. His decision to teach music was inspired by every incredible teacher he’s ever met.

Music Instructor
Edwin Alvarez
Edwin started his music journey at 7 years old with a guitar. He played in a few bands growing up, but when his band’s drummer quit in high school, he decided to learn drums himself rather than find someone new. That decision sparked his love for drumming. Edwin also picked up recording so they wouldn’t have to pay for studio time and went on to study that at Berklee College of Music. He plays a mix of genres, from rock and blues to Latin music. When he’s not making music, Edwin works as a full-time videographer and photographer, with credits in major studio films.

Music Instructor
Ryley Pitman
Ryley is a rising musician who began studying at Shape Your Art at the age of 14. He practices up to five hours per day outside the classroom, his pursuit of new knowledge makes him both a formable electric and acoustic guitar player. He participated in the music program at St. John's Prep where he was trained as a classical pianist and taught the craft of songwriting.

If you're looking to or have taken the interest of picking up a instrument such as guitar, bass, drums or maybe even the triangle, and are seeking lessons to master these instruments to become the next big musician or just to learn how to play your favorite songs for your friends and family, I could not recommend a greater place other than Shape Your Art. I have been under the teachings of the members who work here for years, their guidance and experience have helped put me on a path to success on my musical journey that otherwise without these guy's influence I would have stray far away from. The teachers at this place are by far some of the best you will ever meet and will always help you reach your goals. I seriously mean it that when I say without these guys I would have probably given up on music long ago or have stilled been in my basement with my cheap Epiphone Les Paul Special not plugged in to any guitar amp desperately just trying to learn one song. I thank these guys for everything they have done to help me.
